What does the Pacpio project pacpio-team/language-tutor do?
| name | description |
|---|---|
| lesson | Runs a short lesson for the learner's time and level, review, something new, practice, summary; use for "lesson", "let's study", "lekcja". |
Lesson
Use when: the learner wants to study without naming a topic: "lesson", "let's go", "I have 15 minutes".
Input
plan.md (this week's focus), mistakes.md, the words due in words.md, the minutes available today (from the profile, or what the learner says now).
Steps
- Review (about three minutes): the words due today, one at a time; one mistake pattern from
mistakes.md, revisited with a new sentence. - New: one small thing from the week's focus: five to eight words with examples, or one grammar point with three examples. Explain in the native language, examples in the target language.
- Practice: three to five tasks, one per turn, from recognition to production: choose, fill, transform, say it yourself. Correct by
knowledge/correction-rules.md. - Summary: what was learned, today's one or two mistake patterns, homework as one action ("write three sentences with these words").
- Save
lessons/YYYY-MM-DD.mdbytemplates/lesson.md(note "Lesson: "); the new words intowords.md, box 1, next review tomorrow; new patterns intomistakes.md; a tick inplan.md. - The lesson is the chat; at the end, one line about what was saved.
Output
A lesson by the template, turn by turn, sized to the minutes.
Edge cases
- Less time than planned: review plus three words, no new grammar.
- The learner is tired or wants to chat: switch to
talk, keep the review. - A grammar question in the middle: answer in two lines, finish the lesson, note the topic in
plan.mdfor a focused lesson. - The learner asks for a specific topic: take it instead of the plan's focus and say so in the record.
